LITURGICAL MINISTRIES

CATECHISTS FOR RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Catechists in the parish Religious Education Program, show children the love of by their example, enthusiasm and knowledge. The Church office will supply an abundance of teaching resources. In addition to Catechists, assistants and substitutes are also needed.

USHERS

The ushers welcome parishioners and guests at Mass and assist in seating (hem. They take up the collection and distribute bulletins before and or alter Mass.

ART AND ENVIRONMENT

This committee ensures that our beautiful church is appropriately decorated for the liturgical season. The aim is to draw us into worship and to remind us of the facets of Christ’s life, death and resurrection that are being celebrated in particular liturgies in the Church calendar.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS

These ministers are entrusted with the special responsibility of distributing the Body and Blood of Christ during Mass. They should be in good standing, with the Church and have a special devotion to the Eucharist.

LITURGY COMMITTEE

The Liturgy leant works with the Pastor and music director in planning and evaluating major aspects of seasonal worship and recommending policies for the various liturgical ministries. All parishioners who attend Mass regularly are welcome to join.

SACRISTANS

Sacristans are responsible for the care of the precious objects used during Sunday Or daily masses. They also keep the sacristy clean and in order.

LECTORS

Our Parish lectors proclaim the word of (iod at Mass during the Liturgy of [lie Word. They should he in good Standing with (he Church and have the ability to speak well in front of large groups.

Praise Dancers & Mimes of Church

Youth and Young adults of the parish, sing contemporary spirit-filled music and praise God through interpretation of dance and mime which narrates God’s word and love for us.

SPIRITUAL LIFE

BIBLE STUDY GROUP

The aim of this group is to foster spiritual growth through prayer, discussion and faith-sharing. This group meets at various times throughout the year. Anyone over 18 years of age is welcome to join.

ROSARY WITH BENEDICTION

This group consists of Parishioners who meet regularly to pray the rosary. They will invite and encourage others to pray the Rosary especially in the Months of May and October. Every first Friday of each Month, the same group will organize Benediction in our Parish Chapel.

STATIONS OF THE CROSS

This is a ministry for all parishioners young and old who work together to organize the Stations of the Cross in the Church especially during each Friday of Lent and on Good Friday.

OUTREACH MINISTRIES

Church Choir

This choir enhances liturgy through sung prayer, Many of our members have never sung in a choir before, but through commitment and rehearsals, they are able to develop their musical talents if you are willing to join in this challenging and rewarding experience, which welcome your interest and participation.

BEREAVEMENT/ SUPPORT MINISTRY

The sadness felt after the death of a loved one can disrupt one’s emotional and physical health. Members of the Bereavement Support Group work to help families cope with their grief. This group also assist at the Repast when held at the church.

FOOD PANTRY: OLP & ST. PHILLIP NERI

Our Lady of Peace Church works along with St. Philip Neri Church to offer food and other basic needs to some members of our community. Our Food Pantry is situated at Philip Neri Premises. Volunteers are needed to give support to those in need of food and basic necessities in our neighborhood.

MINISTERS OF CARE/HOSPT. & HOME VISITS:

These are extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, charged to bring the Body of Christ to those who are unable to attend Mass as a result of an admission into Hosp. and to those that are homebound.

MARRIAGE PREP, PROGRAM

‘The two shall become one. They are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore, let no man separate what God has Joined.” (Mk. 10:7-9). In an effort to assure that Catholic Christian Marriage are built on the best commitment possible, a comprehensive process is offered to help engaged couples to understand what they are about to undertake.

{RCIA} RITES OF CHRISTIAN INITIATION OF ADULTS.

RCIA, is the Process of Welcoming those newcomers or inquirers into the Roman Catholic Church. We welcome people who are interested in coming to know and love the faith we share. RCIA is a community and a personal journey that leads to the transformation of the mind and spirit in relationship with God. Team members arc needed to be sponsors and facilitators.

SECURITY:

Parishioners will be trained in providing security in and around the church perimeter and during social events.

CHAIRLIFT MINISTRY:

Individuals will be trained in the operation and use of the chairlift to assist parishioners in wheelchair so they can attend Mass and other church-related functions

*MASS GREETERS:

The Communion Committee promotes a welcoming atmosphere to ail parishioners and visitors at all of our Mass. This group will greet and welcome all who come to worship at OLP and operate the Welcoming Center before and after Mass.

WOMEN’S SOCIETY:

The Women’s Society consists of adult female’s parishioner (18 and older) who provides resources to Our Lady of Peace Administration and Parish.

MEN’S SOCIETY:

The Men’s Society consists of adult males parishioners (18 and older) who provide resources and assistance to Our Lady of Peace Parish and Administration.

VOLUNTEERS:

The Volunteer Ministry consists of OLP parishioners who wish to share their time and talents working in and around the parish. A volunteer role varies according to skills.

*OLP ALUMNI ASSOCIATION:

Calling all former students, administrators, teachers, staff, priests and parishioners of Our Lady of Peace School/Church from the years 1923 and on. We’re reaching out to anyone who attended OLP grammar school and/or church. Plans are forming for a Reunion, special events and activities.
